Environmental Portrait Photography
Farms! About five years ago I was asked if I would photograph farmers in a regional area of the Pacific NW, as a “pro bono” project for a non-profit organization. The photography would be used to help young farmers with their marketing efforts, since they were start ups. Well ………it was one of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on. Traveling miles to a farm I was confronted with not much to look at on arrival. Having to sharpen my creative intuition & skills, each session was an action-packed challenge. So from the attitude of the modern farmer, to the only woman raising cattle in the area, to the chicken farmer, to the young woman who only grew flowers – it was shear delight and an honor to capture a moment.
